Terms of Service
Last updated 26 August 2026
These terms govern your use of Hello Beta, provided by Mohit Shukla, Hyderabad, India (“we”, “us”). By using Hello Beta you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use it.
1. What we provide
Hello Beta is a voice assistant that helps you assemble a grocery order by speaking, reads the resulting basket back to you, and places the order for cash-on-delivery payment after you confirm out loud. A companion application lets one family member link a household account and see completed orders.
Hello Beta is early software. At the time of writing it runs on a single device in a single household, against a local grocery catalogue used for development, and is not open for public signup.
2. We are not the grocery seller
Hello Beta places orders with a third-party grocery service on your instruction. We do not sell, stock, pick, pack, or deliver groceries. The contract of sale for anything you order is between you and that grocery service, and their terms, prices, availability, substitutions, delivery, returns, and refunds apply to it.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in partnership with any grocery service unless this page says otherwise. It does not currently say otherwise.
3. Confirmation and your responsibility for orders
Hello Beta reads the basket and the total back to you and places an order only after you confirm out loud. An order confirmed this way is your order, and you are responsible for paying for it on delivery.
Speech recognition is imperfect. Please listen to the read-back before confirming. If something is wrong, say so and it can be corrected before anything is placed.
4. Payment
Hello Beta itself is provided free of charge and takes no payment from you. Orders are cash on delivery, paid directly to the grocery service or its delivery agent. We never take, hold, or process your money.
5. Linked accounts
If you connect a third-party grocery account, you confirm that the account is yours or that you are authorised to use it. You can disconnect at any time, either from that service’s connected-applications settings or by writing to us. See the privacy policy for what we store and how it is deleted.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use Hello Beta to break the law, to place orders on an account you are not entitled to use, to interfere with the service or the systems it connects to, or to attempt to gain access to data belonging to another household.
7. Availability
We may change, suspend, or discontinue Hello Beta, in whole or in part, at any time. Because it is early software it may be unavailable, incomplete, or wrong at times, and we do not promise any level of uptime.
8. No warranty
Hello Beta is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from your use of Hello Beta. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
10. Privacy
Our handling of information is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, the date at the top of this page changes. Continuing to use Hello Beta after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Hyderabad have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
